Jianguo Liu, of the
University of North Texas,
will speak on:
From a blending problem to linear programming
Abstract:
This talk will be a brief introduction to linear programming.
We start with a blending problem (mixing your favorite nuts!)
and show how to express the problem mathematically. Then we
introduce the simplex method and the interior point method,
the two major numerical methods for solving linear programming
problems. Their features will be discussed.
