What are fraternities and sororities?

Fraternities and sororities exist as a support network for their members. Membership can help personalize the college experience by offering a scholastic support system, providing hands-on leadership opportunities, facilitating community service initiatives, and serving as a vehicle for professional networking far beyond graduation. Fraternities and sororities promote intimate bonds of brotherhood/sisterhood and members typically refer to each other as "brothers" or "sisters".
