In the Fall of 2000, Founding Sister Christina Vindua was looking for a sorority which embodied multiculturalism, education, service and sisterhood. Founding Sister Vindua did not feel that any of the existing organizations on the campus of A&M Commerce fulfilled this complete criteria, and so began to look elsewhere.
After extensive research, she discovered Theta Nu Xi Multicultural Sorority, Inc. It was during her search that she met Founding Sister Arina Agababyan and Founding Sister Nicole Taylor, who then went on to join forces with Founding Sister Tiffany Jacobs, Founding Sister Melissa Whitt, and their ace - Founding Sister Sheila Johnson. Thus, the birth of Theta Nu Xi Multicultural Sorority, Inc. came about on the campus of A&M Univeristy, Commerce on April 1, 2001.
Theta Nu Xi Multicultural Sorority, Inc. was officially recognized as a chapter on the campus of Texas A&M at Commerce on October 16th 2001.
